We ran into Sgt. Mathias patrolling Boogie on Main street. He was just awarded the John Edward Seman award for employee excellence by the city of Findlay. His award was for his work as follows: “Sgt. Mathias began with the City of Findlay in 1995 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2001. Sgt. Mathias goes the extra mile to assist the Police Department and its employees. He is in charge of Shop with a Cop Program which has given many less fortunate children a better Christmas throughout the years. Sgt. Mathias assists with Project Lifesaver Program involving citizens with dementia, he takes care of the FOP lodge and police memorial doing maintenance, rental, upkeep, and landscape. He is also involved with the Hancock County Law Enforcement Memorial Service and the Retired Law Enforcement’s Luncheon.” Congratulations!
